Lake Sherwood, the largest lake in the Monongahela National Forest, is a 165 acre impoundment at an elevation of 2700 feet above sea level. Mountwood Lake provides spring fishing for trout, and warm water fishing for largemouth bass, bluegill, channel catfish and tiger musky. Trout are stocked once each month January through April. A state fishing license and a National Forest stamp are required, and if fishing for trout, a trout stamp is required. Camping is only available during the summer months.
