Directions Stephens Lake is a 300-acre impoundment located 9 miles west of Beckley and 3 miles east of Glen Daniel in Raleigh County. It is accessible from both Beckley and Glen Daniel by WV Route 3 via County Route 3/28.
Description The lake was built in 1963 with a maximum depth of 70 feet and an average depth of 25 feet. A paved road with ample parking parallels the lower portion of the lake and the remainder of the shoreline is accessible by a gravel road. Lake facilities include a marina, concrete boat ramp, and concessions. A large campground is available. The main body of the lake has an unlimited boating zone while the upper end has a 5 mph speed limitation and is for fishing only.
